Frances is a tiny gray jennet born 12/26/07 was 19 3/4" tall at birth.

Gayle is a pretty brown jennet born 11/1/07 was 22 3/4" tall at birth.

Both of these girls are from my friend's, Rocking Wee Ranch. These 2 girls are pet quality.

Gayle and Frances are like 2 peas in a pod. They are best buddies and must go together.

They need to go to a home where they will be the only donkeys.
They are both very sweet
and friendly but not
pushy enough to do well with a large group.

I usually breed August Charm (aka Augie) to Red Hawk. That cross has produced 3 outstanding jennet foals,
Kitty Hawk, Red Sable and Sabrina.
All 3 are breeding jennets top quality miniature donkey breeding farms.

So... again this time I thought I had bred Augie to Red Hawk for a Fall 2008 foal. But
Augie just kept getting fatter and fatter and I knew I would have
to put her in the "fat girls" pen for the summer. But I just thought I'd check her bag and
Surprise, in 2 days she had a foal!!!

So...the only possible scenario is that Tarmac, all 30 1/2" of him got up on the fence
and bred her on the first heat after foal heat. Because her last foal, Sabrina, was born 4/10/07.

I told Mel to put up some cattle panel on that fence because the boards were too far apart at that one place,
but he kept putting it off and I guess Tarmac took advantage of the situation. I have seen Tarmac get on
his knees on the top of the fence in the barn stall. He is quite the acrobat!!

(P.S. I think he got to Rosebud also...)

Anyway this precious small jennet, is so cute, super loving and should make a nice breeding jennet.
She does look just like her DAD!!

Trixie is just barely a week old in these photos. I will post more photos as she grows.

Sassafras has just a few white hairs on that forehead.

Sassafras is a very nice very dark chocolate jennet. She looks a little lanky now, at just a month old, but
she should fill out nicely as both of her parents are very stocky.

If you know pedigree quality herd sire names, then you will see that Sassafras is loaded on both
her dam's and sire's side.
